Cheddar Jalapeño Quiche

This is an amazing cheddar jalapeno quiche I made in when I was studying abroad in Australia.

INGREDIENTS

  • 9″ pie crust, homemade or storebought
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 2 jalapeños, diced, and 1 sliced into 6 rounds
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 4 large eggs (or 5 small)
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar-jack

DIRECTIONS

  1. Turn your oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Thaw the pie crust for 10 minutes.
  3. Prick the crust all over the bottom and sides with a fork to make tiny holes.
  4. Bake it for 10 minutes.
  5. Remove the crust and reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees.
  6. While the crust is hot, spread the cream cheese all over the bottom as evenly as possible.
  7. Sprinkle that with the diced jalapeños (the rounds are for garnish later on).
  8. Put the cream and half-and-half into a small pot and put it over medium heat about 5 minutes, or until tiny bubbles appear around the edges. This is called “scalding” – where you bring it to just under the boiling point.
  9. Beat the eggs together in a bowl.
  10. Add the hot cream mixture to the eggs and combine well.
  11. Add all the spices and salt.
  12. Pour into the crust and bake for 30 minutes.
  13. After 30 minutes, arrange the jalapeño slices over the top in a circle and return to oven for 10 minutes.
  14. Sprinkle with cheese and bake another 5 minutes.
  15. Cool 30-45 minutes before serving or cool completely and serve it cold.

    I found this recipe here.

Oven Roasted BBQ Chicken

This is the finished product of the BBQ chicken I made.
All I added to that was onion, lemon, and bell pepper. I also marinated the chicken in BBQ sauce for a few hours for it to not have a dry taste.

I let it sit in the oven for about 30-35 minutes on 350F.

Banana Nutella Ice Cream

The ice cream turned out amazing. It had a really nice thick texture and the crushed almonds added a lot to it.

This is all I used!  +CRUSHED ALMONDS

I started by crushing up some almonds, and then I blended all the ingredients together. I used 4 bananas and about a 1/3 cup of Nutella. The ice cream turned out really well, and it's a bit healthier than most store bought ice cream.

Same Old Enchiladas with a Different Sauce

I used 2 different peppers to spice things up.

Drum Stick Cooking Spoon that was a really awesome Christmas gift!

Mixing it all up

Topped it off with some pepper jack cheese and a mild enchilada sauce I bought.

One of the peppers had to be eaten before the picture was even taken!

The directions are the same exact way I made the ones before. It's a simple and easy recipe that anyone can cook!

Beef Enchiladas In A Mild Green Salsa

The sharp cheddar and the green enchilada sauce ended up to be a great match together.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can of any green salsa
  • flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 can of re-fried beans
  • 1 cup of rice

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F . In a skillet over medium high heat, cook the ground beef and onion until beef is evenly browned and onion is tender.
    2. Prepare the enchilada sauce according to package directions. Pour 1/4 cup of the sauce into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
    3. On each flour tortilla, place an equal portion of the ground beef mixture and about 1 ounce of Cheddar cheese, reserving at least 1/2 cup of cheese. Then tightly roll the tortillas and place seam side down in the baking dish.
    4. Pour the remaining sauce over the top of the enchiladas and sprinkle with the remaining cheese and olives.
    5. Bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and cheese is thoroughly melted.

Banana Bread

This ended up to be the final product.  I topped it off with some crushed almonds and some more Nutella on top.

Getting ready to put the mix in.

This is what it looked like after I took it out of the oven.

Rolling Up Some Sushi

Using a purple bamboo mat to roll up some sushi.

I put about an inch of rice on the sushi paper.

This is one of my tuna salad rolls with shredded carrots in it.

These rolls look delicious!

I set up the table for the party. It was fairly quick to make and they were all gone by the end of the night.

               Ingredients:

                                      1. Sushi rice
                                     2. Seaweed paper
                                     3. Crab sticks
                                  4. Shredded carrots
                                     5. Tuna salad
                                  6. Sliced cucumber
                                  7. Japanese Caviar
                                     8. Rice vinegar
                    9. Whatever else you feel like putting it.

Directions:

First cook the rice, and after it is cooked add a little rice vinegar to it and let is cool for about 15 minutes. After that get all of your ingredients ready and start rolling up some sushi with your bamboo mat. All of these ingredients should run you at about $30 and will make about 8-10 rolls. It also only took me about 30 minutes to make all of it after the rice was ready.
